dineLA Week: Mo-Chica

We try to visit all the new bars, boutiques, restaurants, and coffee shops that pop up on the eastside, but it can be hard to keep up! However, every time dineLA week rolls around, we start checking off all the restaurants on our must-try list and take advantage of all the incredible dineLA prix fixe menus at some of the best restaurants in town.

Our first stop this dineLA week was Mo-chica, Chef Ricardo Zarate's downtown eatery which was recently relocated from a cafeteria-like space to a beautiful industrial location on 7th, just around the corner from Bottega Louie.  We had delicious dinners at Zarate's Picca, and we heard the original Mo-chica menu had been elevated for the new location, so we knew we were in for a treat. Here's what we had:

Oaxacalifornia Love, made with tequila, mezcal, egg white and pineapple - This is a must-try!

Cesarin - Peruvian Ceasar Salad with Huacatay Anchovie Dressing

Artichoke with Rocoto Aioli Dipping Sauce
Antichuco di Pulpo - Grilled Octopus, Roasted Potatoes and Jalepeno Sauce - Order this! You will not be disappointed.
Fresh and Flavorful Albacore Ceviche

Roasted Black Cod, Sun-Dried Tomato Stew, Peanuts and Chimichurri
We've never had cod this tasty. It was buttery and melted in our mouths. This was the winner of the dinner!

Locro de Quinoa - Quinoa Pumpkin Stew with a fried egg, choclo and a tomato.
This dish was deliciously rich, but not too heavy.
Sol y Sombre Creme Brulee and Alfajores - A Dulce de Leche Cookie and a Chocolate Ganache Cookie
dineLA week runs through July 27, and we highly recommend you visit Mo-chica.
