Blossom Silverlake

There is definitely no shortage of Vietnamese restaurants on the eastside. Even with hipster-hangout Pho Cafe and chain restaurant Pho Citi down the street, the newly opened Blossom is a welcomed addition to Silverlake.

If you're looking for an early afternoon lunch (they close at 3:30pm), a date night or a casual dinner with friends (they re-open at 5:30pm), Blossom is a great option.  Not only is the food delicious, but you'll also find a good scene of Silverlake locals. Who doesn't like pho with a side of people-watching? If you're looking for something to do before or after you dine, Blossom is conveniently located across from Sunset Junction.

If the name sounds familiar, that is because this is the second Blossom restaurant, with the original located in downtown. Both restaurants offer the same menu, but this location has a wine bar in the basement.

Truth be told, we each dined on separate occasions. One of us had a great experience, with top-notch service and delicious food. While the other experienced the hiccups that often come with a newly-opened restaurant going through its growing pains. (i.e. Not enough wait staff and a wine bar that wasn't stocked with half of the items on the menu.) We'd like to think that the off-night was just that, an off-night, and service is usually like former experience.

Have you been to Blossom Silverlake? What was your experience like?
